Savory mushrooms with herbed cream cheese, pastry bandages, and olive eyes for a playful spooky snack.
# What You'll Need:
→ Mushrooms
01 - 16 large white button mushrooms, stems removed and wiped clean
→ Filling
02 - 7 ounces cream cheese, softened
03 - 1 small garlic clove, minced
04 - 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
05 - 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
06 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
07 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
→ Decoration
08 - 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry or crescent dough, thawed if frozen
09 - 16 black olive slices
10 - 1 egg, beaten
# Steps to Follow:
01 - Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, minced garlic, parsley, Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and salt until smooth.
03 - Fill each mushroom cap with the cream cheese mixture, mounding the filling slightly.
04 - Cut puff pastry into thin strips, about 1/4 inch wide. Arrange the strips over each stuffed mushroom to mimic mummy bandages, leaving spaces for the eyes.
05 - Brush pastry strips lightly with beaten egg. Place two black olive slices on each mushroom to create eyes.
06 - Arrange prepared mushrooms on the baking sheet. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and mushrooms are tender.
07 - Allow stuffed mushrooms to cool slightly before serving.
